Corporate Express is honoured to have been awarded St George Bank Supplier of the Year for 2005.
To be in the running for the award, suppliers are required to meet a set of KPIs, of which sixty per cent are based on overall contract performance, while the remaining 40 per cent relate to a value-added component.
Category Manager, Procurement, for St George Bank said they evaluated the benefits the supplier brings to St George and how it manages those value-added items for the Bank.
"It’s in the value-added part of the contract that Corporate Express really shined," they said.
"They were able to offer us considerable cost-savings on computer consumables. We were impressed by how they managed and delivered those items, and with their ability to implement and track those savings.
"They worked with us to develop our furniture requirements, helping us consolidate volume, build catalogues, and overcome some Occupational Health & Safety issues.
"They also helped us manage our promotional items by increasing the number of contract lines that our employees can purchase from, and they were also very supportive of our internal liquor awareness program.
"In order to satisfy OH&S factors, and as responsible corporate citizens, we’re promoting a reduction in alcohol consumption throughout the company, and Corporate Express helped us through that process by establishing a contracted catalogue, ensuring that employees can only order from that catalogue," they said.
An independent panel of six reviewers from within St George examined the nominations, and the result was unanimous - Corporate Express had provided the best solution for the Bank, exceeding savings targets by 12%, and introducing processes and systems that made it easier for the bank to do business with them.
"Overall, our savings targets were exceeded by 12 per cent, which I think speaks for itself,"
"And this year, probably more so than any other year, there’s been an added element of service, and an improvement in processes and systems, and that’s made it easier for us to do business with them.
"This is a significant award, and Corporate Express should be very proud of having won it," they said.
