Go Green Guide - for a Greener Workspace

• Corporate Express has launched this guide to educate Australian businesses on how to facilitate environmental and social sustainable procurement.

• The guide, which is 100 per cent recyclable, features:

− An extensive list of environmentally preferable products across all lines of business: office products, IT solutions, print management, promotional marketing, canteen and catering and business furniture. 
− Facts and figures demonstrating the effect all businesses can have on the environment by using environmentally preferable products.
− Certification labels throughout to help businesses make the right choice when selecting environmentally preferable products.
− An action plan which provides Australian businesses with easy steps on how to start their journey towards creating a greener workspace.

• Corporate Express has expanded its EarthSaver-classified  range of products from 340 products (in 2007) to currently offering more than 2,500 products.  The EarthSaver range, which is featured in the guide, meets specific criteria in relation to recycled content, end of lifecycle management, low ecological footprint, sustainable sourcing or energy conservation/greenhouse benefit.

GreenBizCheck partnership

• The partnership with GreenBizCheck will provide all Corporate Express customers with access to a free condensed version of the assessment service.

• The partnership will guide businesses on the tailored, tangible steps they can implement to make their business more environmentally and socially sustainable.

• The assessment provides internationally recognised certification for business who reach Bronze (70% score), Silver (80%) or Gold Certification (90%).

• The self assessment system contains audit measures and encompasses energy, water, waste reduction and recycling, transportation, supply chain and IT.

Sustainability Report

• In June, Corporate Express released its 2009 Sustainability Report, for the 12 months ending 31st January 2010. The report summarises Corporate Express’ CSR programs and initiatives for 2009 and introduces new targets for 2010.
