Indigenous support

In 2008, Corporate Express began developing an Indigenous Support Program with Corporate Express’ pledge to provide a hand up not a hand out to indigenous communities in Australia.

Reconciliation Action Plan

Corporate Express is also working with Reconciliation Australia, the peak national organisation building and promoting reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians for the wellbeing of the nation. Corporate Express works with Reconciliation Australia to collate all of its activities within one Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).  Some of the RAP activities include celebrating: Sorry Day, Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week all over Australia to increase awareness amongst employees of Indigenous communities and challenges and in Western Australia, Corporate Express is piloting an employment project for Indigenous employees, including hiring a part-time Indigenous Coordinator.

In 2008, we became the first corporate to register its support as a Founding Member of the Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council. The program is aimed at facilitating the integration of Indigenous business enterprises into the supply chain of private sector corporations and government institutions to promote income, wealth, self sustainability and economic independence for Australia’s Indigenous people.
