Corporate Express’ EXP Kleen products are manufactured by Northfork Chemicals Australia. When Managing Director and owner, Bill Campbell, established the business in Queanbeyan, NSW, he was determined to create a company that would be a good neighbour and that would respect the environment, while offering an Australian-made range of quality cleaning products that would compete against foreign imports.
“It was clear to me that by manufacturing in Australia, we control our processes, we provide jobs for Australian workers, and we are empowered to uphold our philosophy. Foreign manufacturing concerns don’t guarantee any of these things.
“Both our sites use electricity sourced from 100 per cent certified renewable energy, either solar or hydro-based, from Country Energy.
“All our processes have been designed to minimise the impact on our most precious local natural resource – water. For example, when we clean the mixing equipment, the wash residuals go into the batch, not down the drain. It’s this sort of attention to the smallest detail that has the biggest effect.
“Another example: where possible we have our liquid raw materials supplied in reusable bulk tanks; but when they must come to us in drums, it's not appropriate to clean them for re-use simply because it takes too much water – so they are sent for recycling.
“The detergents we manufacture are all biodegradable to the Australian standard – they don’t harm the environment while they're being produced, they don't harm the environment while they're being used, and they don’t harm the environment while they’re breaking down.
“The containers that we supply to Corporate Express are all made from recyclable plastic, our cardboard packaging is also recyclable, and any cardboard we receive in our factories are also recycled.
“Northfork is a quality endorsed company to the International Quality Standard and has been for 14 years."
