Corporate Express was recently awarded Supplier of the Year - Quality from insurance giant, Insurance Australia Group (IAG).
To be in the running for this award, suppliers are required to meet a set of balanced scorecard criteria throughout the year, followed by a presentation outlining their performance and capabilities.
According to Chris Heptinstall, Group Procurement Manager at IAG, Corporate Express achieved the highest overall score of all suppliers in the Quality category.
“Throughout the year IAG focuses on order accuracy, product quality, delivery quality and customer service to determine a supplier’s progress on the Quality category of the balanced scorecard.
“The IAG category management team was particularly impressed with the quality of Corporate Express’ EXP and OEM products. We’ve pretty much come to accept the quality of CE’s products as a given, but we also look for quality of delivery and quality of service, chiefly error-free invoices, orders fulfilled on time and in full, transactions that go through without human intervention, and so on.
“This year, the judges noted consistent fill rates of over 98 per cent on the 80,000 line items that Corporate Express delivers to IAG, as well as a reduction in average invoice line item discrepancies from 16 to less than 2 in 2007.
“The balanced scorecard accounts for 80 per cent of the final score, while the credentials presentation makes up the remaining 20 per cent. An independent panel of reviewers from within IAG examined each of the supplier presentations, and declared Corporate Express to be the best in the area of quality and among the leaders in commitment and Corporate Responsibility.
“The team at Corporate Express, led by Account Manager, Natalie Mitchell, and Chris Percival, is very easy to do business with. Natalie is very passionate about the IAG account and she does a fantastic job.
“These awards have become very prestigious over the years, because of the rigorous and consistent measurement of targeted objectives by our category managers at IAG.
“The ultimate aim of the Supplier of the Year award program is to promote and reward excellence in IAG’s supply base and to create a harmonious business relationship built on mutual respect and common corporate values.
“I believe that we have achieved this with Corporate Express in 2007. I would like to thank the account management team for the hard work and effective leadership they put in to make the relationship such a success,” he added.
This is a significant award, and Corporate Express is delighted to have won it.
